Where to see the Severn Bore

Stand at this corner of Alney Island known as Lower Parting, at the point where the two channels of the River Severn join together again, and watch hundreds of sea birds gathered on the sand banks. You might also get a good view of the Severn Bore

West bank

  • Minsterworth - the village has limited parking , but there is parking at the nearby Severn bore pub on the A48 | Map |
  • Overbridge - the adjacent bridge can be used as a view point, but parking is limited and the main road fast and dangerous.

East bank

  • Weir Green - limited car parking
  • Stonebench - narrow road but with passing places, so parking is very limited
